The toll-free helpline number is 1947. It is available 24×7 for IVRS services. Executive support is available Mon—Sat 7AM—11PM and Sunday 8AM—5PM in 12 Indian languages.

Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/CheckAadhaarStatus and enter your 28-digit EID (from the enrolment slip), your full name, and PIN code. You can also call 1947 or check via the mAadhaar app.

Address updates (online) typically take 5—7 working days. Name, DOB, and gender updates take 5—15 working days. Mobile updates at the centre are instant. Check status using your URN at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

First check if your Aadhaar has been generated by visiting the status check page with your EID. If generated, download the e-Aadhaar immediately. If not generated within 90 days, visit the enrolment centre or call 1947 to raise a complaint.

Immediately lock your Aadhaar at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/lock-unlock-aadhaar/en or call 1947. Then file a formal complaint via the grievance portal or email help@uidai.gov.in. You may also approach your nearest police station for cybercrime.

Online updates require a registered mobile for OTP. Without a registered mobile, you must visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra where biometric authentication replaces OTP. Bring a valid document for the update you need.

As per the Supreme Court judgement (2018), Aadhaar is mandatory for filing income tax returns and obtaining PAN. For other government schemes, it may be used as identity proof but is not universally mandatory. Private entities cannot mandate Aadhaar.
